In Gujarat, a speeding bus strikes five bikes, killing one and injuring four.

After he allegedly attempted to flee, the bus driver, Bhikhu Khodbhaya (37), was restrained by irate individuals. He was taken into custody by the police when the deceased’s nephew filed a complaint.

At Gujarat’s Kamrej, next to National Highway 53, a speeding bus struck five motorcycles on Friday morning, killing a carpenter and injuring four more. The bus driver, who was allegedly attempting to flee, was restrained by angry bystanders and turned over to the police, who took him into custody.

Mahendra Punaram (19) filed a complaint with Kamrej police after he lost his maternal uncle Kunaram Godada (27), a Rajasthani native, in the accident but survived with only minor injuries. In his complaint, Punaram claimed that on Friday morning, he and his uncle—who was riding a bike—were en route to Nana Varachha for “furniture work.”

He claimed that a speeding bus struck their bike and three other people on the road when they arrived at the Dada Bhagwan temple in Kamrej. According to the lawsuit, Godada suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital.
